Zusammenfassung:Title: An apparatus and method to prevent man in the middle attack in elliptical curve Diffie Hellman protocol for key pair establishment in embedded IoT devices and communication Abstract-Elliptical Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) protocol is having good potential for Internet of Things security due to its shorter key length and less calculation time. The traditional Diffie-Hellman protocol requires key of 1024 bits but the same security level can be achieved with 163 bits of Diffie-Hellman based on Elliptical Curve. This shorter key length allows optimum use of bandwidth, computational power and other energy resources for Internet of Things. In spite of above advantages this protocol suffers from drawback of "man in the middle attack". Any enemy node can get entry in to network by sending public key to other node which is ignorant about the authenticity of the enemy node. To prevent this type of attacks this research proposes a use of masked generator point for Internet of Things while executing ECDH protocol.
