Knee support orthosis adapted to a prolonged seated position

The invention relates to a knee orthosis comprising: a sleeve (14) made of elastic fabric and configured to exert compressive forces on either side of the knee and on the knee, proximal and distal anchors (19a, 19b) for maintaining proximal and distal parts of the sleeve in fixed positions on the lower limb, and a panel (11, 11') comprising a viscoelastic layer of polymer gel fixed to an inner face of the sleeve, an annular part (11a) configured to surround the kneecap, and a distal tab (11b), the viscoelastic layer having an adherence to the skin such that, once stretched out longitudinally on the leg, the panel applies forces to the skin for supporting the kneecap, and the sleeve is formed from pieces of fabric comprising: a front piece (17) supporting the panel, a rear piece (16) and two lateral pieces (18a, 18b), the rear piece and the lateral pieces having moduli of elasticity in the axial direction which are respectively less than and greater than the modulus of elasticity of the front piece.
