Compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and a method for the prophylaxis and treatment of the adhesion process

Abstract The present invention relates to the fields of pharmacy, clinical and experimental medicine and veterinary science. In particular, it relates to new compounds showing inhibiting effects on p38 MAP-kinase structures of types (I) (VII) that may be used for the treatment and prevention of adhesions. The invention describes pharmaceutical compositions containing a sufficient amount of SB203580 or any of type (I)-(VII) compounds, or their combinations and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient. Provided is a pharmaceutical composition SB203580 used as a compound showing an anti adhesion activity. In addition, this invention provides methods for the prevention and/or treatment of diseases or conditions that serve as risk factors for adhesion formation and/or development allowing physicians to avoid additional administration of drugs in the postoperative period.
