Zusammenfassung:The present invention addresses the problem of providing a meat which has a low saturated fatty acid content. It has been discovered that, as a result of feeding livestock animals a feed including Lactobacillus plantarum BB-PLT (lactic acid bacteria strain BB-PLT) (NITE BP-02097), the saturated fatty acid content of the meat is reduced and the monounsaturated fatty acid content of the meat is increased after cooking. Accordingly, the present invention relates to: Lactobacillus plantarum BB-PLT (NITE BP-02097); a livestock feed including said lactic acid bacteria; a method for rearing livestock for meat, said method being provided with a step in which livestock animals are fed said lactic acid bacteria; and a meat obtained from livestock animals reared using said rearing method.
