Zusammenfassung:	In one aspect of the invention there is provided a control system for a motor vehicle comprising an central tyre inflation system (CTIS) electronic controller, the CTIS controller being configured to control the CTIS to cause inflation and deflation of one or more tyres, the CTIS controller being configured to cause the CTIS to operate in a selected one of a plurality of operating modes in each of which the system is configured to set a pressure of one or more tyres of the vehicle to a predetermined tyre pressure value, the CTIS controller being configured to receive data indicative of a type of tyre fitted to the vehicle, the controller being configured to prevent operation in a predetermined at least one of the plurality of operating modes in dependence on the data indicative of tyre type.
