Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Apparatus and method for continuously casting metal strip includes a pair of casting rolls having casting surfaces with a center portion, edge portions each 5 having average surface roughness (Ra) between 3 and 7 microns, and an intermediate portion between each edge portion and the center portion, the center portion average surface roughness (Ra) between 1.2 and 4.0 times the edge portion average surface roughness, and the intermediate portions average surface roughness (Ra) being between that of the edge and center portions. The 10 surface roughness of the center portion is tapered across its width, and may be tapered across its width in stepped zones. The center portion may have surface roughness varied across the surface to correspond to a desired variation in metal shell thickness across the cast strip. The center portion may be at least 60% of the casting roll width, and each edge portion may be up to 7% of the casting roll 15 width. 77279441 (GHMatters) P82595.AU.1 PETAK 20/05/16 Air Pressure Shot Fhi "Nozzle wfaversesped Zone (lbssilo mm fromnend MM er zone Re (r~inckni 22 12 F5 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 0 I _ 4 _Cpl r 02 50 _____ ____ 0 1 P " Rl 8_______ S 0 12 1,5 R -O --- --- --- 101 1 1 5 IP 502 1 222 0 ___ 2, 1VM 504 1 3 9222J(2 TO____ 10 ,lpI 11 661 23 11A AAi t 2 2K1§551- I-__ I_ _ _ m__II I 1__ _ .5IPM 13_____ 70 1 2" 2 ________ p_________ 16E 6R~bin 4 - --- -- ___ - --- ______________________ 10 - - --- R - --- 2 --- - 0 f i I I I II 0 1 2 3 4 5 0 7 8 8 10 11 1,2 13 14 15 16 Fig. 18
