Zusammenfassung: | BLADE DEPLOYMENT MECHANISMS FOR SURGICAL FORCEPS A forceps (200) comprises a first shaft member (201a) having ajaw member (210) at a distal end (204a) thereof and a second shaft member (201b) having a jaw member (220) at a distal end (204b) thereof. The first and second shaft members (201a, 201b) are pivotally coupled to each other about a pivot to move the jaw members (210, 220) between an open position and a closed position. A trigger (260) is disposed on the first shaft member (201 a). A blade (275) is operatively coupled to the trigger (260) such that rotation of the trigger (260) translates the blade (275) distally. An interference member (286) is configured to prevent distal translation of the blade (275) when the jaw members (210, 220) are in the open position, and a protrusion (208) is disposed on the second shaft member (201b) and configured to move the interference member (286) to permit distal translation of the blade (275) when the jaw members (210, 220) are in the closed position. |
