Optical cable splice protection device and method for mounting same

An optical cable splice protection device, comprising a housing having a cover (100) and a base (200), and a fiber coil assist device (400) mounted in the base (200) of the housing. The fiber coil assist device (400) comprises a bottom piece (401), flexible flaps (410, 420) detachably mounted on the top of the bottom piece (401), and an elastic eccentric compressing element (403) mounted in the base (200) of the housing and used for applying an eccentric compressing force on the bottom piece (401). Under the effect of the eccentric compressing element (403), the bottom piece (401) presses on an optical fiber ferrule (13, 23) of an optical cable (10, 20) to be spliced, and is used for preventing the optical fiber ferrule (13, 23) from becoming coiled and disorderly; furthermore, the optical fiber (12, 22) of the optical cable (10, 20) to be spliced is coiled above the bottom piece (401) and along the no-bending-loss path defined by the flexible flaps (410, 420) and is constrained in an orderly manner at a suitable position. The device prevents twisting and clutter, increasing optical fiber storage space.
