Zusammenfassung:Abstract A gas compression system comprising a compact flow conditioner in the form of a flow conditioner tank, the flow conditioner tank being configured to receive a multi-phase flow of hydrocarbons through a supply pipe from a subsea well; a combined multi-phase pump and compressor unit comprising an impeller for compressing a mixture of gas and liquid; an outlet pipe between the flow conditioner tank and the pump and compressor unit, the outlet pipe being in the form of a gas pipe communicating with an upper, gas-filled part of the flow conditioner tank and a liquid piper having a smaller diameter than the outlet pipe and communicating with a lower, liquid-filled part of the flow conditioner tank; wherein the gas compression system is configured such that the gas and the liquid are separated in the flow conditioner tank, the separated gas and liquid are sucked up through the separate gas and liquid pipes and re-mixed again upstream of the impeller, and the liquid is distributed in the gas flow by the Venturi principle.
