SYMMETRICAL TIP ACUTE CATHETER A medical catheter assembly (510) comprising: an elongate tubular member (520) defining a pair of lumens, and the elongate tubular member (520) defining a longitudinal axis; and a catheter tip (540) disposed on a distal portion of the elongate tubular member (520), the catheter tip (540) defining a pair of diametrically opposed side openings (526), each side opening (526) in fluid communication with one lumen of the pair of lumens, each side opening (526) having a proximal end and a distal end, each side opening (526) having an elongated substantially z-shaped configuration including a rectangular central portion (527a) defining a transverse axis and triangular proximally and distally extending portions (527b, 527c), the triangular proximally extending portion (527b) defining an apex at the proximal end of the side opening (526) and the triangular distally extending portion (527c) defining an apex at the distal end of the side opening (526), and wherein the transverse axis of the rectangular central portion (527a) defines an acute angle with the longitudinal axis of the elongate tubular member (520).
