Zusammenfassung:Abstract A lubricant additive, an crankcase lubricant composition and a method for reducing intake valve deposits in a spark ignition direct injection (SIDI) engine. The lubricant additive includes an aromatic compound having a boiling point under standard atmospheric conditions of from about 1900 to about 270' C. The aromatic compound is effective to reduce intake valve deposits in a SIDI engine when used in an amount ranging from about 0.1 to about 5.0 percent by weight based on a total weight of a lubricant composition containing the additive.
