The invention relates to a compound of formula (I), where R is selected from a methyl group or an ethyl group (I), the hydroxy acid forms of said compound, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts of said hydroxy acids, and pharmaceutically acceptable prodrugs and solvates of said compounds and of the hydroxy acid forms thereof; and the use thereof in the prevention or the treatment of neurodegenerative or neurological diseases, cognitive impairment, diseases associated with changes in APP metabolism, inflammation or inflammatory processes, or epilepsy, epileptic fits and seizures.
