Zusammenfassung: | Abstract A method to selectively transmit torque from a stator of a downhole drilling motor to a rotor of the downhole drilling motor comprises locating a clutch between the stator and the rotor, rotating at least one locking pawl toward a disengaged position about a first pivot axis through centrifugal force when the speed of the rotor is below a disengagement speed, and rotating the at least one locking pawl from an engaged position to the disengaged position about a second pivot axis through centrifugal force when the speed of the rotor is about equal to or exceeds a disengagement speed.
