Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a safety device (10) for controlling the operation 5 of plant equipment, such as heavy machinery, tooling and the like. The safety device (10) comprises a body (12) that is mountable to the item of plant equipment. An insertion point or slot (15) is provided in the body (12) for receiving a tag (20) to be carried by a worker associated with servicing or otherwise performing a task on the item of plant equipment. A display (18) is 10 provided on a surface of the body (12) for displaying information associated with the tag (20). The body (12) is configured to securely receive the tag (20) such that information provided on a surface of the tag (20) is visibly displayed and the display (18) directs attention to workers of the presence of a tag (20) within the device (10).
