Zusammenfassung:	A method for manufacturing a permanent magnet provided to a dynamo-electric machine comprises: a step in which a groove having a smaller depth and a greater width than a notched groove for breaking is formed in a portion along which the permanent magnet is broken and divided; a step in which a notched groove for breaking the permanent magnet is formed in the bottom of the groove formed in the groove forming step; and a step in which the permanent magnet is broken and divided along the notched groove to obtain magnet pieces.
