Electromechanical switching device

Abstract An electromechanical switching device for rotary actuation having a moving part complete with handle for an operator has a braking device on a base part which also 5 engages with the moving part. The braking device has a braking element which is provided with a defined coefficient of static friction and coefficient of sliding friction. The braking element is arranged between the moving part and the base part or the remaining switching 10 device with compressive stress and friction during rotational actuation of the switching device.
