| Zusammenfassung: | - 26 The present invention relates to a plant and process for 5 casting metal ingots, such as aluminium ingots. The invention includes the metal being cast into the moulds that are not immersed in a cooling liquid bath, but rather, the cooling liquid is at a level that is at or below a lowest most section of an internal surface of the 10 moulds. Suitably, the cooling liquid bath is spaced below the moulds into which metal is being poured. An advantage of the present invention is that the cooling liquid is unable to enter into the moulds into which molten metal is being poured and in the event that the moulds rupture, the 15 molten metal into the cooling liquid bath where the molten metal can solidify prior to reaching the bottom of the bath. 25398041 (GHMatters) 11/02111 |
