Shield canopy for a shield-type support

The invention relates to a shield canopy for a shield-type support for underground mining, comprising a canopy plate (2) and a supporting structure (5) being welded on below the canopy plate (2) and having a plurality of longitudinal spars which extend from a rear canopy region (1A) up to a front canopy region (1B). In order to provide a shield canopy which can be produced at less cost and with lower weight and at the same time has a higher bending resistance than the known structures, the invention proposes that at least two of the longitudinal spars consist of section struts (6; 16) which are provided with a top section flange (7; 17) and a web (9; 19) running perpendicularly to said top section flange (7; 17), and in that the canopy plate (2) and the section struts (6; 16) are angled upwards in the front canopy region (1B).
