Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to the use of polysaccharide gums in adhesives, especially in denture adhesives. It further relates to modified forms of naturally occurring polysaccharide gums, including ghatti, karaya and kerensis gums, which are especially useful in this respect, either alone or blended with unmodified gums. The present invention further relates to the methods of preparation of such modified gums, and specifically to the control of hydrogel content of the modified gums, which is key for their performance in the aforementioned adhesive compositions.
