Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device in which the noise due to the contact and interference of a protective cover with the shell of an exhaust emission control unit is prevented from occurring, heat-dissipating property in overheating is secured, and mixing of foreign matter into a heat-insulated space layer is prevented from occurring and which has excellent exhaust emission control performance and is manufacturable at low cost. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device comprises the exhaust emission control unit 11 positioned in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, the shell 12 formed in a cylindrical shape to store the unit and having frustum-shaped parts 12a, 12b at at least one end, and the protective cover 14 installed around the shell 12 through the heat-insulated space layer 13. At least one end parts 14a, 14b of the protective cover 14 are opposed to the frustum-shaped parts 12a, 12b of the shell 12 through the heat-insulated space layer 13. A flexible porous member 21 is so installed between at least one end parts 14a, 14b of the protective cover 14 and the frustum-shaped parts 12a, 12b of the shell 12 that the inside and the outside of the protective cover 14 can be divided from each other.
