Use of glycosaminoglycans to reduce non-specific binding in immunoassays

An immunoassay reagent is provided which comprises an analyte binding agent in a diluent, and a glycosaminoglycan in an amount sufficient to reduce non specific binding in an assay of a sample for the analyte.
