Zusammenfassung:	A pipe end fitting (12) for protecting the end of a pipe (10) for jointing with a socket (26) and sealing ring (32) arrangement includes an attachment portion (14) adapted for attaching the fitting to the pipe end, and a generally annular end portion (16) extending past and generally coaxial with the pipe end, the end portion having a tapered outside surface at its end to serve as a lead-in portion for pushing the pipe end past the sealing ring.
