An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a suction pump. Preferred Features: The ventilating body s a ventilating membrane having an edge region. The ventilating membrane is connected to an anchor of a lifting magnet via a connecting pin. The connecting pin is arranged over one corner of the ventilating opening.
