Service restriction in mobile communication networks

Mobile devices communicating with a home network via another network receive restricted services from the home network. Traffic from mobile devices is routed via a serving support node and a gateway node to one or more home network servers, offering services to the home mobile users. Thus, certain 3G services may be barred to users in another network (2G or 2.5G), which may be illegal in the foreign country. The control messages in the home network may include data identifying the network through which traffic is routed. The IP address of the gateway support node may be used to determine what quality of service is available to a roaming mobile.
