Zusammenfassung:	The present invention is directed to a process for the preparation of sterically hindered acid esters, e.g., organic phosphites, comprising contacting a sterically hindered hydroxyl-containing compound with an acid halide in the presence of an acid acceptor selected from the group consisting of: 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene (DBN), 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU), 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP), 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO), or mixtures thereof, wherein said an acid acceptor is present in an amount sufficient to drive the reaction to completion.
