OIL/GLYCYRRHIZIN-CONTAINING SURFACTANT PHASE TYPE GEL COMPOSITION

A peroral glycyrrhizin preparation or rectal glycyrrhizin infusion suppository with excellent absorbability which contains no irritative sorbefacients such as decanoic acid and contains highly safe additives as the only additives. The oil/glycyrrhizin surfactant phase type gel composition comprises a) 1 to 20 wt.% glycyrrhizin and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, b) 40 to 60 wt.% medium-chain fatty acid triglyceride, c) 5 to 25 wt.% sucrose fatty acid ester, d) 10 to 40 wt.% polyhydric alcohol, and e) 2 to 15 wt.% water. Also provided is a drug for liver diseases which comprises the gel composition.
