Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for operation of an endoscope (1), comprising an objective lens (2), a transmission channel (4), for transmission of an image (17) of an object (100) before the objective lens (2) to an image recording device (6) as a detection unit. The signals from any partial regions (19a, 19b, 19c, 19d, 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b) from any position on the image recording device (6) may be read off from within the total image projected onto the image recording device (6). The signals read off for the partial regions (19a, 19b, 19c, 19d, 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b) may be displayed in part or in whole on a visual display device (16).
