Zusammenfassung:	The stator has a hollow body (1) made of an elastic material, provided with a screw-shaped interior (2) for reception of a rotor (3) and enclosed by a mantle assembled from a number of linked segments (4,4a,4b)extending in the axial direction. The side edges of the segments are shped to allow the adjacent segments to by interlinked to form a coupling which is resistant to applied tension, with a planar surface between the segment side edges, so that the linked segments form a polygon, the outside surface (7) of the hollow body having a corresponding polygonal shape.
