PROTECTIVE CONTAINER

The inventive protective container is used for storing and transporting ecologically hazardous and radioactive waste. Said container comprises a body (2) provided with a lid (1), and at least one external radiation protection casing (7) which is made of polymeric composite material and connected to the side surface of the body. The lid (1), the body (2) and the external casing (7) are embodied from the module elements made of polymeric composite material which contains modified compounds which exhibit the effect of anomalous radiation absorption. All elements of said container are connected to each other with the aid of the material thereof. The thickness of the casings is less than the thickness of the body, each successive casing being thinner than the previous casing. A polymeric base made of diane resin which contains a modifying additive in the form of the polydisperse powder of a tungsten compound, a nickel powder, a silicate paste and a mineral fibre is used as a polymeric composite material. The ratio between the content of said modified mixture in each successive casing and the content thereof in each previous casing is equal to the ratio between the thicknesses of said casings. The body is provided with a flange (4) having a notch (5) which is used for mounting additional casings.
