Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a lithium ion battery (1) comprising a first electrode (3) consisting of talc (Mg3 Si4 O10 (OH)2) or a material which is similar to talc, a second electrode (5) consisting of lithium or another material, such as graphite, and an electrolyte containing lithium ions. The invention enables a significant increase in both the energy storage capacity per battery weight and the number of possible charge/discharge cycles.
