Zusammenfassung:	A method of producing a laminated window (14) including the step of incorporating an oversize interlayer (16) of a plastics material between two adjacent transparent plies (15,17) so that the interlayer of plastics material extends beyond the edges of the adjacent plies and removing the excess of such plastics material extending beyond the adjacent plies characterised by removing the excess by abrasion (6,7). The invention also provides an apparatus for removing excess plastics interlayer material from the peripheral edge of a laminated window comprising an abrading tool (6,7) for the plastics material and a robot programmed to move the abrading tool and window relative to each other whereby the abrading tool engages the excess interlayer material around the peripheral edge of the window.
