Absorptive, ultra thin sanitary products comprising one layer or a plurality of layers of a textile material and a swellable natural substance included therein, which substantially consits of a cross-linkable, swellable polysaccharide in particular selected from the group of galactomannans, galactoglucomannans, derivatives of galactomannans or galactoglucomannans, xanthenes or mixtures thereof, and which exists in the form of particles attached to the surface of a solid substrate or incorporated into a substrate matrix, exhibit properties of especially high moisture retention.
