In a developing unit for a cartridge, provided with a photoconductive drum, for photocopiers or laser printers, a toner container (1) is used which is detachably connected to the frame (5) of a magnet roller (6) serving to remove the toner from the toner container (1). Arranged between the frame (5) and the toner container (1) are a seal (8) and a mask (7), which has a window (10) sealed by a peelable foil strip (11). The mask (7) has a V-shaped guiding and retaining rail (15), which overlaps a flange (12) formed by the longitudinal edge of the frame (5), and when the toner container (1) is connected to the frame (5) requires only screwing of the frame (5) and toner container (1) on the longitudinal edge of the toner container (1) averted from the guiding and retaining rail (15).
