The video-laser detection device comprises means of transporting in a predetermined direction the part to be analysed, at least one laser source for directing towards the part to be analysed a light beam in a lighting plane whose intersection with the base plane of the object is perpendicular to the said predetermined direction, and at least one matrix video camera whose field corresponds to the said lighting plane and whose scanning lines are perpendicular to the said intersection.
