Disposable cartridges for smaller photocopiers and laser printers often have, in addition to a new-toner container and a residual-toner container, further functionally important parts, such as photoconductor drums and loading and developer stations, the additional parts being of considerable importance for the price of the cartridge. The invention is based on the idea of making such disposable cartridges reusable. This is achieved by means of a method, according to which the toner containers of the disposable cartridges are subsequently provided with refilling and emptying orifices which can be closed by means of lids, adhesive strips or plugs.
