Zusammenfassung:A novel thiadiazolylacetamide derivative represented by the following formula (I): wherein R1 means a lower alkyl group and R2 denotes an amino group which may optionally be blocked by a protecting group, or a salt thereof, is prepared by hydrolyzing a compound represented by the following formula (II): wherein R1 and R2 have the same meaning as defined above, or a salt thereof in the presence of an oxidizing agent and a base, then removing the protecting group, if necessary. The thiadiazolylacetamide derivative is useful as an intermediate for the preparation of antibiotics.
