A motor vehicle trailer I with a closed body, in particular for the transportation of animals, especially horses, is provided in which the body is manufactured from two half shells which are at least approximately symmetrical with respect to its vertical longitudinal plane 4-4, each of which half shells integrally comprises a longitudinal wall 2a; 2b, an end wall half 2c'; 2c'' and a cover half 2d', 2d''. The half shells 20a and 20b are set against each other at a distance 20c with the edges 21a and 21b of their end wall halves 2c' and 2c'' as well as with the edges 22a, 22b of their cover halves 2d', 2d'', the edge areas lying next to each other being fixedly connected to one another by overlapping pieces. Initially, the two half shells 20a and 20b which are at least approximately symmetrical to the vertical longitudinal plane 4-4 are formed and cured from carrier materials and bonding agents. The carrier materials for the manufacture of the half shells 20a and 20b can consist of glass fibre or mineral fibre mats, wooden boards and plastic sheets, whilst curable plastics and adhesives can be used as the bonding agents.
