The system has a flight computer delivering a first set of flight instructions and a control device to control a second set of manual flight instructions e.g. altitude instruction (26). A display unit displays a third set of instructions. A button selects an instruction from one of the sets to display a value in a determined area to sides of current flight instructions. An activation unit i.e. tactile button, activates the selected instruction i.e. speed instruction (20) to replace the current instruction i.e. current longitudinal speed (21) with a value of selected instruction in the area. An independent claim is also included for a system for securing the display of flight instructions.
