Zusammenfassung: | A peracetic acid product is produced by continuously feeding an acid catalyst to a reaction medium so that the amount of acid catalyst in the reaction medium is kept at an interval which corresponds to 0.5-10 wt.% of sulfonic acid. About 1-10 wt.% of the total amount of the materials fed is continuously withdrawn from the reaction medium as a bottom product. Production of a peracetic acid product comprises continuously feeding hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid and water into an aqueous reaction medium containing hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, peracetic acid and an acid catalyst. The hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid react in the presence of the acid catalyst and form peracetic acid. The aqueous peracetic acid concentrate is continuously removed from the reaction medium by distillation. The acid catalyst is continuously fed to the reaction medium so that the amount of acid catalyst in the reaction medium is kept at an interval which corresponds to 0.5-10 wt.% of sulfonic acid. About 1-10 wt.% of the total amount of the materials fed is continuously withdrawn from the reaction medium as a bottom product. |
