Biocide composition comprises as active microbicidal components 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one and at least one substituted haloalkyl sulfone compounds of formula (R-(CH 2) n-SO 2-C(X)(Z)Y1) (I). R : (cyclo)alkyl, aralkyl, alkoxyaryl or (hetero)aryl (all optionally substituted by at least one substituents) or H; X, Y1, Z : H, F, Cl, Br or I; and n : 0-4. Provided that at least one of X, Y1 and Z is halo.
