The invention relates to an extendable mast comprising an extendable folded structure consisting of a succession of articulated stages each comprising at least three articulated panels (5) having a general curved form in the idle position and able to be arranged either in a folded state, where the stages are folded over each other in the form of an accordion, or an extended state, where each panel (5) is curved, the structure adopting a stable form which is rigid under axial compression, due to its geometry and assembly, with a buckling blocking effect preventing any unintentional folding of the panels (5) and the stages in relation to each other under the effect of an axial compression force exerted along the extension axis.
