Zusammenfassung: | A transverse element that is destined to be part of a push belt for a continuously variable transmission is manufactured of a basic element (32) that comprises a portion of a strip-shaped carrier. During the manufacturing process, various cutting operations and shaping operations are performed in the basic element (32) . A first cutting operation is aimed at obtaining a first part of the contour of the transverse element. A second cutting operation is aimed at obtaining a second part of the contour of the transverse element that, in any case, comprises the bearing surfaces for supporting carriers of the push belt and the contact surfaces for establishing contact to pulleys of the continuously variable transmission. Because of the fact that this second cutting operation is performed no earlier than that the first cutting operation and the shaping operations have been performed, it is achieved that the formation of the bearing surfaces and the contact surfaces takes place with a high accuracy. |
