A kit for fixing a dental restoration material onto tooth material comprises: (a) an electron donor compound; (b) a first adhesive component, containing an oxidizing agent (as component of a polymerization initiator system) and a polymerizable acid; and (c) a second adhesive component, containing a reducing agent (as component of the initiator system) and an acid group-free polymerizable monomer, oligomer or prepolymer. An independent claim is included for the use of the components (a), (b) and (c) for the production of the kit (I), to be used by: etching the tooth material with an acid; applying (a) to the tooth material; mixing (b) and (c); applying the mixture to the tooth material; and applying the dental restoration material to the tooth material.
