Zusammenfassung:The method is based on a time series of distance images of a detection area (14) of a sensor (10), especially a laser scanner. It involves successive cycles in which at least two objects (16,18) are separately tracked after an initial phase and separate prediction of positions and/or speeds of object characteristics (26,28,30) and determination of estimates of speeds of characteristics for given current positions of the characteristics and determining at least one position and/or speed of an object based on the results of tracking the corresponding characteristic. Independent claims are also included for (A) a computer program for implementing the inventive method (B) a computer program product for implementing the inventive method (C) and a device for detecting and tracking objects.
