The invention relates to a method for the containment of special waste. The special waste, preferably in the form of particles, is enclosed by a mixture which can be hardened and said mixture, enclosing the special waste, is subjected to a hardening treatment whereby a polymer concrete is formed. The mixture enclosing the special waste is enclosed in a container made of polymer concrete and said container can be produced by the same hardenable mixture. The hardenable mixture contains at least a) 10-50 wt. % of at least one hardenable resin, and b) 50-90 wt. % of at least one inert inorganic filling material in the form of particles, forming a base matrix. The components a) and b) are equal to 100 wt. %.
