The invention relates to a device, an electric motor and a method for testing and/or monitoring, comprising a least one electronic circuit, for a brake coil fed with a D.C. voltage of an electromagnetically actuated brake, the D.C. voltage being generated by a rectifier which is fed from an A.C. voltage source. The invention is characterized in that the electronic circuit can likewise be fed from the A.C. voltage source. The electronic circuit comprises means for detecting at least one voltage applied to the coil and the electronic circuit comprises means for comparing the detected voltage values with reference values, the result of comparison being especially signalized to the exterior or to other components.
