The lock for vehicle flaps and doors, and especially at the glove compartment, has a lock section (10) operated by a motor (50) which also pulls the flap into the closed position. The locking unit is a spring-loaded hook (21), in a swing mounting on a slide (22) which, together, form a component unit (20) which can move in two different modes in three different positions. The motor acts through a gearing to give the component unit a movement between in and out (20.1) positions and act with a closing pull. The component unit can be rotated from the in position into a rotary position and release the lock from the hook.
