Zusammenfassung:The inverter (3) has a set of connecting terminals (4, 5) for connection to a photovoltaic generator (2) and another set of connecting terminals (7, 8) for inputting into a power supply network (6). A short-circuit control unit e.g. thyristor, is connected parallel to the generator and is controlled such that the generator operates corresponding to a pulsing in a short-circuit operation. A maximum voltage value is exceeded between third set of connecting terminals of the inverter at the terminals (4, 5) of the generator. A buffer capacitor is connected to the generator by a protective diode. An independent claim is also included for a method for protecting an excess voltage of a power generating system i.e. photovoltaic system, with an inverter.
