| Zusammenfassung: | The electrolyte condensation system for lead-acid batteries of the invention comprises means for condensing evaporated electrolyte and means for returning said evaporated electrolyte to the electrochemical cells, and is characterised in that the electrolyte condensation system is substantially thermally isolated from the battery. The batteries provided with this electrolyte condensation system meet all the requirements demanded of a maintenance-free lead-acid battery while affording the additional advantage of substantially reducing water consumption due to evaporation at high temperatures, thereby increasing battery life under high-temperature conditions. |
