Production of a dental restoration part having a materials blend with a coefficient of heat expansion greater than that of the framework involves covering the major part of the free zone (especially the whole framework free zone) with heat-protective paste prior to heat treatment of the restoration part. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the same process as above but for the case in which the coefficient of heat expansion of the material blend is less than that of the framework; (2) use of a heat- protective paste during the heat treatment of a restoration part to cover a part of the framework not already covered by the materials blend; and (3) a heat-protective set comprising a support element and the paste which is at least brushable before being supported.
